In short: looking at Korea and Hong Kong public holidays 2027, Korea has 15 that fall on weekdays and Hong Kong has 13. Only 6 of those weekdays are closed in both places (1 January, 8–9 February, 13 May, 16 September and 27 December).
The other 16 are closed on one side only, and those are the days when an order, a payment or a document request between Seoul and Hong Kong is most likely to stall.
The lists below come from the official announcements: Korea’s 2027 calendar guidelines (월력요항) issued by the Korea AeroSpace Administration on 29 June 2026, with the full date table from the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute, and the Hong Kong government’s list of general holidays for 2027.

Hong Kong also lists four general holidays that fall on a Saturday in 2027: 6 February (Lunar New Year’s Day), 27 March (the Saturday after Good Friday), 1 May (Labour Day) and 25 December (Christmas Day). In Korea, Memorial Day (6 June) falls on a Sunday and has no substitute day.
What the numbers mean for orders between Seoul and Hong Kong
Korea-only closures cluster in September and October. Chuseok (14–16 September) is followed by substitute holidays on 4 and 11 October. On the Korean side, public offices and many suppliers are closed while Hong Kong is working, so documents or payments that need a Korean counterpart can wait several days.
Hong Kong-only closures cluster around Easter and early October. Good Friday and Easter Monday (26 and 29 March), Ching Ming (5 April), National Day (1 October) and Chung Yeung (8 October) are working days in Korea.
Two new Korean holidays. Labour Day (1 May) and Constitution Day (17 July) were designated as public holidays for government offices in April 2026, according to the Korea AeroSpace Administration. In 2027 both fall on a Saturday, which creates substitute Mondays on 3 May and 19 July.
Early October is the tightest stretch. Between 1 and 11 October, one side or the other is closed on four weekdays (1, 4, 8 and 11 October). If you plan a shipment for the run-up to Christmas, place it before Chuseok or after 11 October.
These dates are holidays for public offices and the general public. Private companies, carriers and warehouses set their own schedules, so confirm cut-off dates with your forwarder before each peak.
Method, sources and date
- Scope: official public holidays in South Korea (관공서의 공휴일, including substitute holidays) and Hong Kong general holidays, calendar year 2027. Weekdays are Monday to Friday. Sundays are excluded from the counts; Saturday holidays are excluded from the weekday counts but noted in the text.
